Some bathrooms are purely functional. And then there are bathrooms built around a completely different idea - one where the whole point is to slow down. That's exactly what we were going for with this install in Angwin, CA.
We put in a Kohler free-standing cast iron tub paired with a matte black floor-mount tub filler and a hand-held shower attachment. Cast iron is a different animal compared to acrylic. It's heavier, it holds heat longer, and it has a solid, substantial feel that you notice the second you step into it. It's the kind of fixture that earns its place in a room.
The matte black hardware ties everything together without fighting for attention. Against the light gray tile surround and the wood-look floor tile, those black fixtures pop in just the right way. The integrated deck-mount overflow on the tub is clean and minimal - no clutter, nothing out of place.
Getting a free-standing tub right is more than just setting it in the middle of a room. The supply lines and drain have to be roughed in at precise locations, the floor-mount filler needs to be perfectly positioned relative to the tub, and everything has to be leak-tested before the finish work goes in. That's where the plumbing side of a bathroom remodel really matters.
This is the kind of work we do - fixture installation that's done clean, done right, and built to last. Whether it's a tub, a custom shower setup, or a full bathroom remodel plumbing package, the details are what separate a good install from a great one.
